The Canon 5D Mark II is a great update to the innovative Canon 5D, which was the first full-framed DSLR to come in a compact body. The 5D Mark II features a high resolution 21 megapixel CMOS sensor, dust reduction, a DIGIC IV processor, live view and HD 1080p recording among other great features. Its image sensor is almost identical to the professional EOS 1Ds Mark III, and as a result, the 5D Mark II delivers superb image output that’s extremely clean and detailed. As expected from a camera in this price range, high ISO performance is very good as well. Build quality is very good as well with improvements over the 5D. Overall, the 5D Mark II represents excellent value and an extremely attractive option for serious photographers that want output comparable to the 1Ds Mark III without the exorbitant price tag. It retains the qualities that made the original 5D such a hit while introducing significant improvements and innovative features that make it a terrific DSLR overall.
